Love & Obedience

Last week, we talked about the importance of obedience in our relationship with God.  Jesus often shared the same message to his followers—those who belong to Him, those who love Him, should obey His commandments.  Jesus happened to release this call right before He proceeded to display the greatest act of love. 

Today, we learn that loving Jesus is not the same as keeping his commandments.  Loving Him precedes and inspires us to keeping His commandments—we will not obey Him unless we believe Him.  We cannot trust Him unless we love Him.
